The Island’s impressive sandy beaches, picturesque glens, estuaries and exposed cliff tops provide the perfect backdrop to the annual adventure race calendar, which
this year features three high profile events.

Race the Sun, organised by the Children’s Centre is now in its seventh year and is a relay race like no other. The task is simple; starting at sunrise your team must complete a lap of the dramatic 100-mile Island coastal footpath before the sun sets. Split into 10 demanding sections, the course follows the 'Raad ny Foillan' (Way of the Gull'), a stunning coastal footpath with significant height gain. This year's will also feature a new 'Coastal Ultra'.

Teams can consist of any number of runners up to a maximum of 10. All money raised is donated directly to supporting vulnerable children and young people on the Isle of
Man. To secure your place in Race the Sun 2014 or for more information about the event contact Mark Eastham at The Children’s Centre on 01624 631917 or email markeastham@thechildrenscentre.org.im

The best cumulative time over the three days sees the winner take all! Racers will compete against the backdrop of the Port Erin Beach Festival - a full weekend of fun and games that features live music, Manx dancing, a kayak fishing competition, beach sports, seafood shack and more!
