Blackford Financial Services Pre TT Special

Date: 23rd May, 2008 to 26th May, 2008

Location: Isle of Man

The Pre-TT Classic Races came into being in 1988, after the TT organisers realised that the machines of yesteryear still had a place in the TT Festival.

The Blackford Pre-TT Classic Road Races, held on the 4.25-mile Billown Course, is the ideal pure road race course to watch, hear and smell the machines of past decades.

The enthusiasm and atmosphere is also special around the Billown circuit during the Blackford Pre TT Classic Meeting as spectators and enthusiasts mingle with the ever-growing number of competitors.

The event is capped on the Tuesday after the races by a unique Open Air Concours d'Elegance of Racing Machines in Castletown Square where many of the machines are 'fired-up' for everyone's enjoyment and is followed by the Prize Presentation.

The Castletown and Derbyhaven Motorboat and Yacht Club

Date: 25th May, 2008

Location: The Castletown and Derbyhaven Motorboat and Yacht Club

The Castletown and Derbyhaven Motorboat and Yacht Club have kindly offered to put on a race for the Rally entrants, and are putting up a prize for the best performance. The races are far from serious affairs, the emphasis being put on fun and “taking part” rather than fierce competition. Anyone wishing to take part must of course be adequately insured, and their boat, equipment and crew be up to standard.

The start time will be 14.15, i.e. an hour before high water. I will give the race instructions to anyone intending taking part. The race-entry/ indemnity sections should be completed and returned to me before the start. So please make sure you know your correct WOA Handicap. It is a CDMYC requirement that you wear a life-jacket for racing. Failure to do so results in disqualification.
Races normally last for approx 75 mins….not exactly ocean epics but great fun none the less!

At 18.00 a BBQ is being organised on the balcony of the Clubhouse in Port St Mary. (There is no specific charge to you for this, but donations will be welcome. A basket will be provided for this purpose)

The Club bar will be open from 18.00 - midnight.
